Our Regular Events

Board Games and Puzzle Events
Board games and puzzles are things we do to bond with the elderly while also talking to them about their life stories. We go door to door on advertising for the event and help those who may not know how to play a game find out how.
This is a way for us to bond with the elderly with something fun to do. This event has replaced our Discussion events.
1 Saturday per month at Bentley Commons

BINGO time!
Bingo is enjoyed by many people, young and old! This activity gets residents excited, and it's a great way to demonstrate our care. This is a way for us to help provide things they may want/need for their rooms but playing a game that they'll enjoy.
This is a way for us to be able to not only bond with the elderly but also play a game they love and get ready for.
Every 1st Saturday per month at McGurk House

Craft Events
We are happy to provide for the social and spiritual needs of seniors. Crafts offer us a mutual activity to bond with seniors. We can share our faith with our new friends while painting a masterpiece!
Crafts are designed to be accessible to seniors and to facilitate intergenerational conversations. With great leaders guiding the way, there is no need for previous art experience!
One Saturday per month at Liberty Ridge

Coloring Events
Understanding that age brings a certain kind of wisdom discussed in Job, our coloring events provide a means by which our students can engage with seniors at their pace while keeping their hands busy. The bonds formed through this club provides a way for Christians to share their faith.
1 Saturday per month at Liberty Ridge

Letter Writing
Are letters out of style? At Across Generations, we think they're a great way to spread joy! During holidays, we set up a table on campus so anyone can write a kind note to a senior. We offer fun stickers to decorate and recommend Bible verses.
This opportunity also increases awareness of community needs among Liberty students. Anyone can experience the joy of serving others!
Later in the week, we deliver these notes thanks to our volunteer delivery drivers!
1 - 2 times per semester

Craft Leadership
Founded by Ariel DiVietro (on left) and Ashley Goo (on right), crafts are a great way for seniors to practice fine motor skills.
Ariel DiVietro is a Game Design major heading in her last semester at Liberty. Passionate about serving seniors, Ariel volunteered her artistic abilities for our craft events. Ariel was a ray of sunshine as she led our DIY workshops and participated in many other events.
Ariel helped us plan and coordinate supplies for many interesting crafts, including mason jars, painting, bandana pumpkins, and more! Ariel's artistic expertise and patient instruction helped us all become amazing crafters! We will miss her as she moves forward to greater things.
Ashley Goo (on right) is a second-year Nursing student with a passion for serving the elderly. She has enthusiastically contributed to planning ideas and listing supplies for our upcoming workshops.
Across Generations can plan many crafts with the support provided by Liberty University and SGA. We are incredibly blessed to work with an organization that supports student-led initiatives.
