Hannah Wilson, I'm a Liberty 2024 alumni with a BS in Biomedical Science.

2. What programs have you volunteered for with Across Generations?

I've volunteered with the discussion, hymn, and craft programs. I volunteered with AG for about year.

3. What’s your favorite part about volunteering with the elderly?

My favorite part of volunteering with the elderly would be hearing their life stories and what they have experienced.

4. Describe one interaction you’ve had with a senior. What did you have in common? What were you surprised about?

I remember talking to this one lady about friendship and what a true friend is. I was surprised at how much wisdom she shared with me about what a true friend is and how she found one in her life and how that relationship impacted her.

5. Why did you want to volunteer with Across Generations?

At first I wanted to support a friend by joining the club and then I fell in with love with the seniors and enjoyed talking with them. I kept volunteering because it seemed to bring them so much joy and I learned so much from them.

6. What have you learned by interacting with the elderly? Has your faith been impacted in any way? Please explain.

One thing that I learned was to be more appreciative of the older generation because of what they have lived through and what they can teach us. I also learned that you can never be too old to begin seeking God.

7. Is there anything else you feel is important to share?

This club is great for interacting with the community outside of Liberty and you learn so much by interacting with seniors. I also found a new appreciation for my own grandparents while volunteering with this club. This lead to a closer relationship with them.
