Welcome to Across Generations

 

At Across Generations, we unite people of all ages to spread God's love in our community through volunteering. Located in Lynchburg, Virginia, we aim to foster connections that span generations, enriching lives and strengthening our relationship with God. With a variety of service programs, there are plenty of opportunities to join and make a difference.

Discussion Events

Hosting engaging conversations about faith across generations is our effort to slow cognitive decline and foster faith-centered friendships.

Craft Events

Designed with seniors in mind, our crafts unite people of different ages as they work together to create beautiful projects.

Bingo Nights

This semester, we are starting a new bingo program at local assisted living facilities. Stay tuned for more information!

Hymns

We host weekly hymn sessions at Runk and Pratt at Liberty Ridge, Runk and Pratt at Leesville Road, and Bentley Commons. 

 

Service Projects

Music Concerts

Anyone with musical ability may join us as we host student-led concerts at local nursing homes.

Legacy Writing

Interested student writers interview seniors to preserve their stories for generations to come.

AG Hymnal

Design and format an Across Generations hymnal with a collection of old and new worship songs.

What is Across Generations?

Across Generations is a volunteer organization in Lynchburg, VA, with a mission to facilitate intergenerational relationships, provide for our community, and ultimately, to spread God's love.

How can I volunteer?

You can also contact us directly or DM us on Instagram. Opt to join GroupMe to receive updates and register for our events.

What kinds of projects can I get involved in?

We offer a variety of projects including community service programs, mentorship initiatives, and intergenerational events.

Participate in our regular existing programs, including discussions, hymns, crafts, or bingo. We also have one-time activities such as letter writing. You can join a semester-long project such as the music concert program, legacy writing, or hymnal design. 

We offer all members the opportunity to start their own program! Be sure to let us know when you fill out our interest form.

Are your events CSER-eligible?

Yes! To register for CSER, you must meet up with a leader in person. You also must sign our CSER Agreement Form stating our terms for CSER as a club.

There are plenty of CSER opportunities available and many students will opt for double CSER through our organization.

Do you collaborate with other service organizations?

Yes! In the past, we've teamed up with WorldHelp, Liberty SGA Manna Food Club, and more. We are always looking for ways to connect with other service organizations. If you're interested, contact us below.

What kind of leadership opportunities are available?

We encourage our existing members to begin service initiatives according to the talents God has given to them. We will work with you to provide for a need you see in our community.
